Job Description

Role Overview

We are looking for a high-caliber Power Programmer to join our elite engineering team. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical expert who thrives on solving complex production challenges, designing scalable microservices, and delivering high-performance backend systems aligned with critical business needs.

You will play a key role in building resilient platforms, driving architectural excellence, and ensuring system reliability at scale.

Core Responsibilities

Architectural Leadership

  • Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performing microservices using Java (Spring Boot) and Node.js
  • Establish clear service contracts, API standards, and reusable design patterns
  • Drive best practices for microservices architecture and system design

System Resiliency & Production Ownership

  • Take ownership of P0/P1 production incidents, ensuring quick resolution and minimal business impact
  • Perform deep root-cause analysis (RCA) and implement long-term fixes
  • Strengthen systems through monitoring, alerting, and validation frameworks

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with CRM, Data Engineering, and Product teams to refine data models and workflows
  • Improve event-driven architecture and platform observability

Technical Design & Delivery

  • Translate complex business requirements into low-level designs (LLD)
  • Break down solutions into estimable tasks for agile sprint execution
  • Ensure high-quality deliverables aligned with performance and scalability goals

Mentorship & Code Quality

  • Lead code reviews and enforce coding standards
  • Mentor junior engineers on testing strategies, CI/CD practices, and clean code principles

Technical Requirements

Experience

  • 10+ years in backend engineering and scalable system design
  • Experience in domains like Utilities, Energy, or CPG is preferred

Programming & Frameworks

  • Strong expertise in:
    • Java (Spring Boot)
    • Node.js (Express.js)
    • RESTful API development
    • Object-Oriented Design (OOD)

Databases

  • Hands-on experience with:
    • MySQL / PostgreSQL
    • MongoDB
  • Strong skills in schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning

Cloud & DevOps

  • Experience with AWS / GCP
  • Containerization: Docker
  • Orchestration: Kubernetes
  • CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions

Testing & Methodologies

  • Strong experience with:
    • Agile / Scrum
    • Test-Driven Development (TDD)
    • Testing frameworks: JUnit, Mocha, Chai

Additional Skills (Good to Have)

  • Exposure to event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar)
  • Basic understanding of Android/iOS environments and API integrations
