Job Description
What You’ll Do• Design and maintain the enterprise software architecture roadmap aligned with business objectives.
• Define architectural standards, design patterns, and technology strategies, and lead architecture reviews for new products and major initiatives.
• Ensure architectural consistency across multiple product lines.
• Drive modernization of legacy applications into cloud-native, modular architectures.
• Design AI-ready software architectures that support Machine Learning and Generative AI capabilities.
• Architect solutions using Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, and intelligent workflows.
• Partner with Product Management and Data Science to identify AI-enabled product innovation and guide teams in model integration and AI APIs.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and establish architectural principles for responsible AI, security, privacy, and governance.
• Design scalable, cloud-native architectures on AWS, including microservices strategies and service boundaries. • Design event-driven architectures using messaging and streaming technologies, and establish API-first integration standards. • Support platform engineering initiatives and shared infrastructure services. • Improve system resiliency, scalability, and disaster recovery.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to engineering leadership and mentor senior engineers and software architects.
• Lead architectural design sessions and technical workshops, and review critical software designs with implementation guidance.
• Promote engineering standards, architectural governance, and engineering excellence through coaching and knowledge sharing.
• Define engineering best practices and promote Domain-Driven Design, SOLID principles, clean architecture, and secure coding standards.
• Support performance optimization and scalability improvements across teams.
• Collaborate with DevOps to improve deployment automation and observability, and drive adoption of reusable platform services.
• Partner with Product Management to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Work with Data Engineering and Data Science to support AI initiatives, and with Security and Compliance on enterprise standards.
• Participate in strategic technology planning with executive leadership.
What You'll Bring
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. • 15+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 8 or more years designing enterprise software architecture. • Experience architecting enterprise SaaS applications with a strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architectures. • Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives across multiple engineering teams, with excellent communication and presentation skills. • Ability to define and own enterprise technical direction and architecture governance across teams without direct authority. • Strong mentorship and technical leadership that elevates architecture practices across engineering. • Excellent communication and presentation skills for both technical and executive audiences. • Cross-functional influence to align architecture with product, security, data, and DevOps priorities. • Healthcare software, procurement, or supply chain technology experience. • Experience integrating AI into enterprise SaaS products; familiarity with HIPAA, SOC 2, and healthcare security requirements. • AWS certifications; TOGAF certification (preferred but not required)
