Mobile QA/ SDET – Key Requirements

Experience: 6+ years
Mobile Experience: 3+ years with Native or React Native applications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience testing Native or React Native mobile applications
  • Strong hands-on experience in Mobile Test Automation
  • Experience with at least one:
    • Detox
    • Appium
    • Maestro
    • Espresso
    • XCUITest
  • Strong JavaScript / TypeScript
  • Ability to understand/read application code, not only test scripts
  • Strong experience with iOS and Android testing
  • Hands-on experience with End-to-End (E2E), Integration, Unit and Manual/Exploratory testing
  • Experience testing payment / financial / money-handling workflows
  • Strong knowledge of mobile-specific testing areas:
    • App lifecycle & backgrounding
    • Network loss/retry
    • Permissions
    • Deep links
    • Push notifications
    • OS upgrades
    • App upgrades with existing user data
    • Low-end devices
    • Cold start / warm resume
  • Experience with real-device testing and device matrix testing
  • Strong Jira / defect management
  • Ability to own release quality and release sign-off
  • Good understanding of CI/CD and automated test execution
  • Excellent written English and ability to create clear, reproducible bug reports

  • Own the complete mobile test strategy
  • Define what should be covered through:
    • Unit testing
    • Integration testing
    • E2E automation
    • Manual exploratory testing
  • Define release quality bar, entry/exit criteria and release sign-off
  • Develop and maintain E2E automation suites for iOS and Android
  • Perform exploratory testing for critical journeys:
    • Quote generation
    • Purchase & payment
    • Claims submission
    • Policy management
    • Authentication
    • Post-login journey resumption
  • Perform testing across:
    • UAE / KSA
    • English / Arabic
    • RTL layouts
    • Guest / authenticated users
    • Feature flags ON/OFF
    • iOS / Android
    • Cold start / warm resume
  • Conduct:
    • Regression testing
    • Upgrade-path testing
    • Device-matrix testing
    • Real-device testing
  • Participate in requirement refinement and improve acceptance criteria/testability
  • Lead defect triage: reproduce, isolate, prioritize and route defects
  • Maintain a healthy Jira defect workflow
  • Coach developers on writing better tests
  • Review test automation code through Pull Requests
  • Work with Release Management on release cadence
  • Collaborate with Support on production issues
  • Track quality metrics such as:
    • Escape rate
    • Crash-free sessions
    • Flake rate
    • Critical journey coverage
